As an educator, my role is to empower your child to approach their coursework with confidence, become advocates for their own learning, and acquire and sharpen the tools necessary for greater academic growth. I also help my students develop and properly use their executive functioning skills — leading to greater success in school and in life!
My journey as an educator began as a student, where I studied behavioral psychology with an emphasis on child and adolescent development. In the subsequent years, I have worked with students in small groups and one-on-one settings as a collaborative teacher at Stephen F. Wise school; seeing the results of individualized attention in the classroom first-hand illuminated the need for a personalized experience in my tutoring sessions.
I’ve since further honed my skills as an instructor and advocate for children with a variety of academic, social, and emotional needs — including non-neurotypical students with ADD, ADHD, processing issues, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other neuro-divergent situations.
Additionally, my background in the performing arts has prepared me to bring an abundance of creativity and enthusiasm to my work—including expanding the classroom well beyond sitting in front of a computer or workbook. (Sometimes, my students need to get up and move; I love that!)
